Police Information

Working in emergency services often puts people in a difficult position.  While many of you become police officers, fire fighters and paramedics in order to help others, your position may not allow for you to spend the time that you feel is necessary to help a victim.  You need to be free to attend other emergencies, complete paperwork and spend time with your families.  When you feel that a victim is in need of practical and emotional assistance, putting in a call to Victim Services of Waterloo Region will allow you to leave the scene knowing that the victim will be assisted by trained, qualified volunteer teams.  Feedback is provided to referring officers after volunteers assist victims, so that you can rest assured that the victim's needs have been met.  For information on client intake, benefits to emergency service providers and instructions on obtaining volunteer assistance, please read the applicable sections of our website, call us at (519) 585-2363 or email at victimservices@wrps.on.ca.
