A Message from the Executive Director

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of Victim Services of Waterloo Region, we would like to thank you very much for your interest in supporting our around-the-clock crisis intervention service.

Victim Services is a non-profit agency that works to provide immediate assistance to victims of crime and tragic circumstance, either at the scene, in our office, over the telephone, or in one of our five comfortable Victim's Rooms across the Region. Our highly skilled volunteers provide emotional and practical assistance to victims when they need it most, when crime and tragedy first happen. Immediate intervention helps people to recovery from victimization more quickly, and referrals to community agencies can help victims to play an active role in their recovery. With a focus on helping the client based on their unique, personal needs, our goal is to promote and enhance community wellness. We reached out to over 700 individuals during 2005 and our goal is to increase that number each year.

As a non-profit agency, we rely on the generous contributions of people like you to make our work possible. Please support Victim Services of Waterloo Region with a donation. Your donation will be directed towards maintaining and improving our many valuable programs, and can be put towards the program of your choice, including the crisis intervention program in general, our volunteer program, public education, DVERS (Domestic Violence Emergency Response System), and the ACCESS Information Clearinghouse.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now able to accept donations online through the CanadaHelps.org website. To make a donation, please click here. A tax receipt will be sent to your email account immediately for your convenience.

Our response has always been, and with your help will continue to be increasingly caring, skilled and effective!

Sincerely,

Kim Clark
Executive Director
